Maddison's Inspiring Journey: Overcoming Challenges with Resilience and Hope

In the past year, Maddison has been an invaluable part of our team at Obvs, assisting Sian in the Lab while pursuing her university degree. She embodies the core values of Obvs and was on the verge of signing our first-ever employment contract. However, fate dealt her a devastating blow at the young age of 23 when she received the heartbreaking diagnosis of a grade 3 brain tumour. Thanks to a routine optician appointment, the tumour was discovered, as Maddison had been experiencing migraines and coordination issues on her left side. Despite the challenges she faced, Maddison displayed incredible resilience and successfully completed her demanding university degree.


A Journey of Resilience: With the help of the amazing NHS, Maddison underwent a successful surgical procedure to remove the tumour. Nevertheless, her battle is far from over. As we go about our daily work at Obvs HQ, we keenly feel the absence of her radiant smile. But knowing Maddison's indomitable spirit, we are confident that she will be back with us in no time because she is one tough cookie!

The outcome could have been far worse if Maddison had postponed her optician appointment any longer.
