Why Organic? - Obvs Skincare

Why Organic?

Did you know some brands claim their product is organic even if it only has 1% organic ingredients?

Crazy isn't it? Luckily, the Soil Association have strict guidelines that brands (like Obvs Skincare) have to follow in order to be called "Organic" (i.e a high % of organic ingredients), so always look for the Soil Association logo when buying organic products.

Why should you switch to organic?

Organic products are made using organically grown produce that does not get contaminated with pesticides, herbicides, or other toxic chemicals. This means that organic skincare is much safer, avoiding harmful substances that often aggravate the skin. They are also GMO-Free!

Making the switch to organic can be life-changing for many. Many decide to go organic when they’re pregnant, have sensitive skin, or because they’re fed up with over-the-counter products. Organic is more natural and avoids harsh chemicals. Thus, you will no longer suffer from skin irritation and potential health problems caused by inorganic skin care.

Why are organic products better for the environment?

Organic products are free from toxic chemicals that affect soil health and ecosystems. Better yet, organic farming completely eliminates the use of synthetic substances. These substances are very damaging to soil and wildlife.

When you buy a Soil Association-certified organic beauty product, you can be sure it contains:

  • No GM (genetically modified) ingredients
  • No controversial chemicals
  • No parabens or phthalates
  • No synthetic colours, dyes or fragrances
  • No nanoparticles
  • Recycled and recyclable packaging where possible
  • ...And that no animal testing has been done in the making of the product
